#ClownLivesMatter: March Planned For Oct. 15 In Tucson, Arizona

We Are Change

#ClownLivesMatter a ridiculous hashtag that I never thought I’d see that is until I read online that given the recent spreading of fear of clowns some people presumably clowns themselves got together and are organizing a march planned for Oct 15th in Tucson, Arizona to show the public not all clowns are psycho killers in response.

Recently all throughout the U.S. in 38 states, people dressed as clowns have been harassing even in some cases randomly killing people, luring kids etc.

The states affected are Alabama, Arizona,  Arkansas, Colorado, California, Maine, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New YorkNorth Carolina, OhioOklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Vermont and Wisconsin.

Just today a 12 year old girl was arrested for posting on Instagram as a killer clown targeting a New Jersey middle school for a hoax threat.

Organizers in Arizona are planning to counter this recent spate of attacks with a “Clown Lives Matter” march for October 15 in Tucson in reaction to all theses frightening incidents involving clowns.

The march will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 on 4th Avenue in Tucson. Attendees are expected to show up wearing full clown makeup or masks.

According to a flyer advertising the event, “this is a peaceful way to show clowns are not psycho killers. We want the public to feel safe, and not be afraid. So come out, bring the family, meet a clown and get a hug!”

This new trend of killer clowns started back in August, in South Carolina where there have been at least four incidents reported, it then spread to North Carolina when clowns tried to lure kids into the woods. In New York, just recently in September there was another case where two creepy clowns were seen by an eye-witness driving home. Then another attack followed in Ohio, when a woman was attacked by a man in a clown suit who threatened to hurt staff and students at Redding schools after grabbing her throat.

Then a few weeks later in Pennsylvania a 16 year old was attacked by a clown and murdered. While in Tennessee another clown attacked a teen from the woods and slashed him on the arm with something sharp then escaped.

Now in both Florida and Arizona just last week students at have been being threatened by individuals using clowns through social media. There seems to be dozens of copycat crimes happening surrounding this clown phenomenon but a good majority of these appear to be pranks/hoaxes. However there is also the potential that a “clown cult” may be operating across the U.S. potentially using the internet to recruit members to harass (troll) others online. For more on recent clown sightings there is a twitter account setup for that specific purpose titled “@ClownSightings.

It’s an old fad that many may see as a joke but some people consider very dangerous and several police and citizens are warning would be jokesters that someone is going to get seriously hurt especially since there has been cases of people dressing up as clowns and attacking people. Happy early Halloween trick or treat?
