CBD Oil Reclassified As Medicine In Britain But Thrown In Same Bracket As Heroin In U.S.

We Are Change

At the same time as the British government reclassify cannabidol (CBD) as a medicine, the DEA have somehow managed to brand it with the same iron as schedule 1 drugs such as heroin and crystal meth.

This decision was officially made on Monday by the British Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulations Agency (MHRA) to legalise the distribution of products containing CBD across the UK. The final decision came around based on substantial evidence that CBD successfully treats various serious illnesses and diseases.

An MHRA spokesperson said:

“We have come to the opinion that products containing cannabidiol (CBD) used for medical purposes are a medicine. MHRA will now work with individual companies and trade bodies in relation to making sure products containing CBD, used for a medical purpose, which can be classified as medicines, satisfy the legal requirements of the Human Medicines Regulations 2012.”

This is a huge step in the right direction for the British Government and it is comforting to know that CBD is finally gaining the medical recognition that it has deserved for too long now. Amazingly enough though, this decision has come around only months after the agency sent “cease and desist orders” to producers and sellers stating that it should be removed from sale in the United Kingdom.

Whilst UK Parliament members have been campaigning throughout 2016 for the reformation of Britain’s “failing drug laws,” the DEA have been doing everything in their power to keep these medicinal products well within the confines of the law.

It’s not to say that the US hasn’t been exposed to all of this information – about the undoubted medicinal qualities of CBD derived products.

In December last year, a team at the University of Alabama discovered that CBD dramatically reduces the frequency and severity of seizures in children and adults that suffer with intractable epilepsy.

In over two thirds of the cases that were treated – over 50% of the participants experienced a dramatic reduction in the severity of their seizures.

So the word is out, and the clock is ticking – it is only a matter of time until the world of medicine gets what it has always needed…warehouses full of products containing cannabis.
