Fork Wars: How The Future Of Money Is Decentralized [VIDEO]

Roger Ver began his cryptocurrency journey in early 2011. He was the first person to start actively investing in Bitcoin startups.

Fast forward almost a decade, now Ver is the CEO of Bitcoin.com, and the world of crypto is moving fast.

It’s not simply a testament to its “volatility”—as the fake news pundits will have you believe—but more just a byproduct of this burgeoning new market.

Indeed, that’s the very reason mainstream media and economists fear mongered us for so long, even as it has become the most revolutionary new money system since fiat itself.

Most recently, we’ve seen more “forks” in the Bitcoin space, specifically Bitcoin SV vs Bitcoin Cash, so it was a pleasure to speak with Roger Ver again so he could break down the latest.

“The Bitcoin.com wallet only supports Bitcoin Cash,” he explained. “So there’s a fork, and both were fighting over who got the Bitcoin Cash name, but the ABC clearly has the Bitcoin Cash name at this point.”

There are definitely some… philosophical differences at play here between certain players in the crypto space.

As Ver puts it:

The Bitcoin SV version, I wish those people great luck. I wish anybody that’s trying to do anything that’s peaceful, good luck with their projects but I see from a lot of the quote-unquote thought leaders of the Bitcoin SV project, they’re talking about how, “we need to support the government, and we need government this and government that…”

…frankly, I don’t think we need government this and government that, that’s why I got involved in Bitcoin in the first place, I want the individual to be in charge of their own lives.

For Anarchast episode 452, Roger and I dove into quite a few topics, including the conflict with Craig Wright, the benefits of Bitcoin Cash, and what’s being done to keep crypto lean and efficient.

I appreciate that Roger Ver is also a voluntaryist, and believes that voluntary human interactions in the free market, can and should replace the violent interventions of governments.

We also discussed some conspiracy theories, market dynamics, dark net use, privacy and more!

As perplexing as crypto can seem at times, it’s mostly just a reflection of the complexity of unrestrained human action—something the state and central banks have been trying to clamp down on for ages.

Thankfully, though, with the advent of the internet and cryptocurrencies, there’s more hope than ever before to overcome these archaic government systems.

I’ve witnessed the incredible spontaneous organization of freethinkers annually during Anarchapulco—The World’s Premier Liberty Event.

Roger was unable to attend this year, but Bitcoin.com was the presenting sponsor again, and people from all over the world voluntarily came together on the beach to form an experience that stands as a testament to freedom and the future.

Anarchapulco 2019 was truly memorable, and the magic is already brewing again as we’ve got an incredible lineup of contributors committed to participating for 2020.

Exact dates for next year haven’t been finalized just yet, but it will be mid-February again, and now is your chance to secure your spot while getting the best deal.
